I think this one of the only few Christmas specials that actually tells the REAL meaning of Christmas, the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ–something very hard to find in any holiday special nowadays. Yes it’s about family and joy and peace but Jesus is the reason for the season. They actually sell Charlie Brown’s tree in stores, ornament and everything! I bought mine for 10 dollars. lol. Some come with Linus’s blanket.

So what if it isn’t the best animation in a cartoon? Can’t people accept it for what it is? It was made in 1965. My favorite Christmas special next to Rankin and Bass’s Rudolph and then The Grinch. It would NOT be Christmas if we didn’t watch this. I don’t think any Christmas specials will ever be the same again. This is way before everyone started getting PC.

I love that people are still watching this, even in a day and age when Christ and scripture and hymns have been almost outcast…..Let us all remember that the greatest gift, our salvation has already been given to us, all we have to do is receive it.

thanks for posting, but the pacing, animation, and script of this is palpably bad. The CB thanksgiving was worlds better.

I’m 23 and my family has watched this every year around christmas, a tradition I will gladly pass on to my children. I will teach them that Christmas isn’t about the fancy toys they recieve but rather it’s about the gifts they already have….Family and Friends.

I’m 43 and I still get excited too. In my youth, this was appointment TV for my sisters and me. Even though times have REALLY changed, we were lucky to have those little family moments. Times seemed better then…but what do I know.

I am 41 years old, and still get excited when this christmas special comes on. What wonderful memories this brings to my mind. My parents are both gone now, but I remember us popping pop corn and watching this every year. Thank you for posting this.

It used to be that I would cry when Charlie put the ornament on the tree and said “Everything I touch gets ruined”. Now I cry at the end of this clip where all the children announce at the newly-decorated tree, “Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!”. It’s just too poignant all around.

This still makes me cry. Oh those childhood memories of the Christmas season. It’s funny that the TV execs didn’t want to air this special because they thought it was “too religious”.

said the one who spelled ‘stupid’ with two ‘p’s’ if its irony your going for than it was funny.
If its because your mom loved Mr. Miller Lite while pregnant with you, then its pitiable and hilarious. You blockhead.

Snoopy’s shrine to corporatism reminds me of the state of the music industry and the soul of the world,,,and Charlie Brown’s dejected state of mind, reminds me of the last breaths of life into the collective dying soul of mankind.
I like the idea that the apathetic masses are the ones who change their minds and rebuild what they’ve neglected after realizing the error of their ways. It really is a profound statement.
